Schleswig-Holstein regulates online poker with the law most modern in Europe!

The German state of Schleswig-Holstein legalized online poker with the most modern and adequate law throughout Europe! All operators can now apply for a license, and there were already 20 orders! The law goes into effect as of March 2012! Here are the details of the new law:

• Open market for all players in the world;

• 20% tax on the profits of casinos;

• Providers licensed within the EU economic area can immediately obtain a license;

• Vendors who request a license in Schleswig-Holstein does not need to have its headquarters in Schleswig-Holstein, it just has be in another EU member state.

• To calculate the tax they must pay a licensed supplier in Schleswig-Holstein, the payments of the players should be considered throughout the entire area federal, not just the Schleswig-Holstein. This is a clear indication that Schleswig-Holstein also takes clients from other federal states;

• The law shall commence on March 1, 2012;

These are great news for online poker players as Germany distances itself from absurd laws like in Italy and France, and joined in this way to the UK in the forefront of laws with regard to online gambling in Europe;
